So, my friends, our country doesn’t fight wars recklessly; instead, it takes on the responsibility of keeping us safe through dialogue—and many people know about that. But focusing on that, here comes John Ibrahim’s upcoming movie, The Diplomat.
I watched it on Holi day in a packed theater during the very first evening show! Well, hello my friend, welcome again to this honest review. Let’s take a look.
A diplomat is someone who smoothly handles internal matters between India and Pakistan. In this film, John Ibrahim plays a diplomat working at the Indian embassy in Pakistan. However, the story isn’t entirely about this diplomat—it’s about a girl who manages to enter the embassy by pretending to be Indian. That twist is the main part of the film.
And here’s something to know: the movie is inspired by a real-life incident. In fact, it’s practically a biopic of that girl. The way everything has been presented—the events, the performances by the actors—everything comes together into a product that is truly worth watching!
This isn’t a typical mass-entertainer; it’s one of those untold stories that should actually be made into a film or documentary—a war that is fought without weapons. And the film shows that kind of victory.
John, the actor, gives a very serious performance without relying on action scenes, and he nails his role as the diplomat. When you see the lead actress in her role, you can see the pain in her eyes, and after watching the film, I realized that such a real story truly happened to a girl. It must have been an incredibly painful experience for her. There are a few courtroom drama scenes that could have been made a bit more intense, but that level of intensity is needed only when a real story or biopic is turned into a masala film.
In short, the film is presented in a very simplified yet realistic manner. Clocking in at around 2 hours and 15 minutes, this movie engages you with its unique topic and story, and in the end, it fills you with pride. There are some dialogues that make you want to salute the message.
This movie is family-friendly, so you can easily watch it with your family. I give it a comfortable rating of 3.5 stars. There are a few noticeable loopholes, but they can be overlooked.
So, if you’ve seen the movie, please tell me what you thought of it. If you haven’t seen it yet, go watch it with your family or friends—it’s definitely a good movie.
See you in the next movie review.
Bye! Thank you very much.
